Cigarettes Wraps are considered not just as tobacco packaging. Moreover, It runs ads that promote the use of cigarette. It makes the product look more attractive and ignore the health warnings since the customers think that tobacco pruducts are not dangerous.
For that matters the World Health Organization ( WHO ) and the Labor Convention on Tobacco Control ( FCTC ) suggested that cigarette packs should made plain and simple. The paxks will be made without any decoration, no more catchy element of what so ever usuallly exist on the packs. What remains is the box of the product which causes the death of 6 million people per year.
This new package is expected to reveal the reality of tobacco products . It will standardize by made it in two contrasting colors like black and white , or color specified by the government.
Later, in the packaging, a picture of warnings will occupy the largest size. Meanwhile cigarette brands or product names are small in size ( approximately 25 percent ), and no information about the quantity of the product.
The purpose of this plain packaging is of course to reduce the pulling effect of tobacco products, as well as limiting the effects of cigarette packs as a form of promotion or advertisement. Some studies also show that plain packaging could help improve the public 's attention the dangers of smoking and the cigarette industry is considered not to be facing significant obstacles if it increases the size of pictorial health warnings on cigarette packs.
