Let me ask you , how many of you
think that your degree, your skill or your experience will guarantee you to get
a job you ever dreamed?. Sure I guess a lot :)
But I think it’s not quite true,
I mean grade, skill or experience were like a tools that we have, useful or not
it depend on the situation we’re up against.
Example, in my country,
Indonesia, lot of people with doctoral degree have to face the truth that
their degree or degree is not much
appreciated. Such requirement only be needed for riset and development. Sadly,
not much that kind of company in Indonesia.
This situation is much more like
a person who stranded at inhabited island holding a big diamond. Means it
useless, if nobody need it.

So, the first thing you should
remember if you looking for a job, identified yourself. Identified your skill,
what you’re good at it, then identify what the market need then find a way how
to get into the market.
Be realistic, remember, not your
degree, skill or experience that guarantee you to get a job, but suitability of
the job, does it suit you?. If it is not suitable you better adjust yourself
with it. Means you need to learn from the basic, but it’s okey, takes tahat as
opportunity to develop new skill.
Okey, I’m just share what’s in my
mind and not lecture you what should you
do or don’t. lastly piece of advice be confidence to convince yourself that
you’re a ‘diamond’ and just need a place where it worth a value.
